German Foreign Minister Waldorf condemned Iran's excessive use of violence against demonstrators on Thursday (January 8th) and called on Iran to fulfill its international obligations.

Wadpur posted on the social media platform X: "Iranian people have been taking to the streets for days on end. It is their right to express their opinions peacefully!"

Since December 28th last year, Iranian merchants have held protests against soaring prices and a sharp depreciation of the currency. The demonstrations have spread to at least 40 cities, and some have escalated into violent conflicts.

Recently, US President Trump threatened that if more people died in the protests in Iran, the United States would deal a heavy blow to Iran. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu also expressed support for the demonstrations in Iran. Iran's Foreign Ministry on Monday (5th) accused Trump and Netanyahu of inciting violence in an attempt to undermine Iran's national unity. The Iranian military has warned that Iran will not stand idly by and allow external forces to threaten it.
