British Prime Minister Stamer said that the UK must be prepared for the war in Iran not to end "quickly", and called for reaching an agreement through negotiations.
Xinhua News Agency reported that Stamer, during a questioning session by the British Parliament's Liaison Committee on Monday (March 23), emphasized that at the beginning of the US and Israel's military strikes against Iran, he had warned that the UK must be prepared for the war not to end "quickly".
He said that in the matter of Iran, any action by the UK must have legal basis and a well-thought-out feasible plan. Therefore, the UK did not participate in the strikes against Iran initially, and only carried out "collective defense" operations subsequently.
He stressed: "This is not our war. We will not be dragged into this war."
Stamer called for resolving the conflict as soon as possible and "through negotiations to reach an agreement and set strict conditions for Iran, especially on the nuclear weapons issue."
