The Ministry of Health of the Democratic Republic of the Congo has released data showing that the confirmed cases of the Ebola outbreak have risen to 710, among which 149 are fatal cases.

Xinhua News Agency reported that data released by the authorities on Saturday (June 13th) showed that currently there are 324 patients in isolation or hospitalized, and the cumulative number of cured cases is 35.

The statement said that the government is working closely with all parties and continuing to implement public health intervention measures to cut off the virus transmission chain and protect public health. The on-site response team is advancing epidemiological monitoring, patient treatment, and contact tracing, among other tasks.

The World Health Organization's latest outbreak report released on Saturday stated that the Ebola epidemic in the Democratic Republic of the Congo is still developing rapidly, with the number of cases increasing continuously and the scope expanding as well.

The current reported fatality rate in the Democratic Republic of the Congo is around 20%. However, as many of the deaths that occurred before the outbreak was declared are still under investigation, the actual fatality rate may be even higher.
