Thai public opinion polls show that the reformist People's Party remains the most favored candidate for the country's leadership among the Thai people, and new elections are expected to be held in the coming months.

Reuters reported that a poll released by the National Institute of Development Management (NIDA) of Thailand on Sunday (September 28) showed that about 33 percent of respondents supported the People's Party. This party is an important opposition party in Thailand and also the largest party in the parliament.

However, the support rate of the People's Party has dropped from 46% in the last poll. The approval rating of Party leader Natapong also dropped from 32% to about 23%.

In addition, the ruling Thai Pride Party's support rate among respondents rose from 10% to 13%. The approval rating of the current Prime Minister, Anutin, has also risen significantly, from around 10% to 20%.

Anutin recently reaffirmed that he would dissolve the House of Commons within four months of issuing a policy statement after reaching an agreement with the People's Party.

On the other hand, the support rate of the Pheu Thai Party, to which former Prime Minister Thaksin belongs, has slightly risen from 12% to 14%. Marsh was sentenced to one year in prison by the Supreme Court for corruption and abuse of power and is currently serving his sentence.

Meanwhile, about 22% of respondents said they still haven't decided which political party to support, a rate higher than the 8% in the previous poll. Another approximately 27% of the respondents believe there is no suitable candidate for prime minister, a rate higher than the previous 20%.

This poll was conducted from September 19th to 24th, with approximately 2,500 Thais aged 18 and above participating.
