The national security advisor of Slovak Prime Minister Fico, Lecak, resigned after new documents related to Epstein were made public. The documents stated that Lecak and Epstein had exchanged emails regarding issues involving young women.
Reuters reported that Lechak issued a statement denying any wrongdoing on his part and condemning Epstein's crimes. He said the email exchanges were informal and casual, with no substantive content. However, in order to prevent this matter from being used to attack the prime minister, he will voluntarily resign.
This is not because there is anything criminal or immoral about my actions, but rather because I do not want Prime Minister Fizzo to bear political consequences for matters unrelated to his decisions.
Fizzo posted a message on Facebook on Saturday (January 31st), announcing his acceptance of Lechak's resignation and praising him for his extensive experience in foreign policy.
The US Department of Justice released millions of new documents related to Epstein on Friday (the 30th), including text message exchanges from October 2018 when Lachacz was the Slovak Foreign Minister.
