According to multiple sources, South Korean President Lee Jae-myung may send a special delegation to visit China next week.
Yonhap News Agency quoted a person from the ruling Democratic Party of Korea as reporting on Monday (August 18) that South Korea and China are coordinating the schedule of the special delegation's visit to China around factors such as the anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries (August 24). The special delegation may visit China around August 25th, but the exact date is still to be determined.
It is learned that the members of the special delegation may include former National Assembly Speaker Park Byung-seok, Democratic Party lawmakers Kim Tae-nyeon and Park Jeong. Roh Jae-heon, the son of former President Roh Tae-woo and the chairman of the East Asian Cultural Center, is also expected to join the special delegation.
