The Ministry of Defense of Cambodia refuted the statement made by the Thai military that Cambodia attacked Thailand just hours after the ceasefire came into effect.

Xinhua News Agency reported that at a press conference on Tuesday (July 29) morning, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Defense of Thailand, Mari Sukhya, said: "On behalf of the Ministry of Defense of Cambodia, I would like to refute the statement made by the spokesperson of the Thai military about the occurrence of fighting and the violation of the ceasefire agreement."

She said that the Cambodian armed forces strictly implemented the ceasefire agreement that came into effect at 0:00 on July 29.

The Thai Army reported on Tuesday that Cambodia had violated the ceasefire agreement. Thai Acting Prime Minister Phong Tan told the media that after the ceasefire agreement between Thailand and Cambodia came into effect, some Cambodian soldiers might have been undisciplined, and the Thai side has made an appropriate response.

Peng Tan said, "The situation has not escalated. The border is currently calm."

A spokesperson for the Thai military told Reuters before noon on Tuesday that the meeting of military district commanders along the Thai-Cambodia border, originally scheduled for 10 a.m. on the same day (11 a.m. Singapore time on the 29th), has been postponed. The new meeting time has not yet been determined. Subsequently, a Thai official said that the Thai and Cambodian militaries have not yet reached an agreement on the venue for the informal meeting of the commanders of the Thai-Cambodian Border Military District.

In addition, Jirayu Huangsap, the spokesperson of the Thai government, told reporters that Thailand informed the US and Chinese sides attending the ceasefire negotiations of Cambodia's attacks at multiple locations after the ceasefire came into effect.
