日本已暂停从巴西圣卡塔琳娜州（Santa Catarina）进口肉鸡，这是第二个被日本禁止进口肉鸡的巴西州属。
路透社报道，巴西肉类游说团体“巴西动物蛋白质协会”（ABPA）星期一（7月17日）说，日本是在巴西当局确认一只鸡感染了高致病性禽流感（HPAI）后作此决定。
这对巴西肉类加工厂商来说，是又一个坏消息。巴西圣埃斯皮里图州（Espirito Santo）上月确认当地一非商业农场出现禽流感后，日本就停止从当地进口家禽肉类。
巴西政府后来证实此事，称农业部长法瓦罗下周将访问日本，与日本当局讨论日本对家禽产品的进口要求。
为巴西猪肉和家禽加工厂商代表的ABPA说，每月从圣卡塔琳娜州运往日本的肉鸡量，占巴西出口总量的不到3%。
巴西是全球最大的肉鸡出口国。巴西今年5月15日首次通报当地野生鸟类暴发高致病性禽流感（HPAI）疫情。至今有至少七个州记录了数十起类似的疫情。
