Kyodo News analyzed that the president of the Liberal Democratic Party, Saane Takaishi, is likely to be elected as prime minister in the first round of voting.

On Monday, Takaishi Saori and the leader of the Reform Party, Yoshifumi Yoshimura, held a meeting between the two party leaders. The two sides signed a ruling coalition agreement, officially establishing a joint governance.

Several people related to the matter disclosed that about four of the seven non-party members in the House of Representatives' party group "Aspiring for Reform" are considering voting for Kaohsiung City's Sanae. The majority of seats in the House of Representatives is 233, with 196 seats for the Liberal Democratic Party and 35 seats for the Reform Party.
