Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said that Iran is cooperating with regional partners and is in contact with the United States through an intermediary, and he claimed that certain results have been achieved.

Alaghi, in an interview with CNN, emphasized that Iran does not want a war to occur and expressed concerns about possible misjudgments. However, he believes that US President Trump will make a wise and correct decision.

Alagizhi said that as a negotiating party, the Iranian side no longer trusts the US side. However, some friendly regional countries are striving to help rebuild trust between the US and Iran. These dialogues have achieved certain results. "So, if the US negotiation team follows the instructions of President Trump and reaches a fair and just agreement, ensuring the absence of nuclear weapons (with relevant restrictions), then I think another round of talks is possible."

Alaghi recently emphasized that Iran's missile and defense capabilities are non-negotiable. However, in an interview with CNN, he stated that if Iran can continue its uranium enrichment activities for peaceful purposes, then any details can be negotiated.

Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Bagae said on Monday (February 2nd) that an agreement framework for negotiations with the US is expected to be formulated in the coming days. He also said that some regional countries involved in the mediation are assisting the US and Iran in conveying their messages.

The media in the United States and Israel reported on Sunday that the Trump administration has conveyed messages to Iran through various channels, expressing its willingness to hold a meeting and negotiate on the agreements between the two countries.

US official: US-Iran talks to take place as soon as this week

A senior US official told the US news website Axios on Sunday that the Trump administration has indicated that the talks could take place as soon as this week. Turkey, Egypt and Qatar are working to facilitate the meeting between US special envoy Witkov and Iranian officials in the Turkish capital Ankara a few days later.

According to media reports, Israeli Prime Minister met with Lieutenant General Zamil, the Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces, on Sunday evening after his return from the United States. Earlier that day, Zamil had already met with Defense Minister Katz. Zamil had previously attended a high-level meeting in Washington and discussed the issue of Iran with US officials. The media pointed out that the discussions among the senior officials tended to suggest that compared to a week ago, the US is now closer to launching an attack on Iran, although it is still unclear how large the scale of the attack will be.

On Sunday, Trump indicated that he hoped to reach an agreement with Iran. In response to the warning from Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei that a US military strike against Iran would trigger a regional war, Trump pointed out that if the US and Iran failed to reach an agreement, the US would know whether Khamenei's statement was true.

Trump said: "Of course he (Hamenei) would say that. We (the United States) have the largest and most powerful fleet in the world there, very close by, and we can get there in just a few days... I hope we can reach an agreement. If we don't reach an agreement, we'll be able to see if what he said is correct."

The day before, Trump confirmed to the media from the Air Force One aircraft that Iran was in negotiations with the United States and he hoped that Iran would agree to abandon its nuclear weapons program.

Recently, the United States has been continuously exerting pressure on Iran and has deployed multiple warships, including aircraft carriers, in the Middle East to strengthen its military deterrence against Iran.

The military standoff between the UAE and Iran has escalated. The President of the UAE has cancelled his planned three-day state visit to Japan.

NHK (Japan's Broadcasting Corporation) quoted Japanese officials as saying that the President of the UAE, Mohammed, has cancelled his visit to Japan scheduled to start on the 8th. The UAE has cancelled the visit citing domestic circumstances. It is known that this is related to the military standoff between the US and Iran.

The report indicates that this is the latest movement of resources by various countries in response to the potential conflict between the United States and Iran. Due to security concerns, some of Japan's largest buyers of liquefied natural gas have stated that they will not attend an important meeting to be held in Qatar this week.
