Netanyahu: Israel Engaged in Multi-Front War, Striking Iran and Its Proxies

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Israel is waging a multi-front war, striking at Iran and its proxies while creating "significant rifts" within Iran itself.

In a video statement on Sunday (March 29), Netanyahu announced that he has ordered the Israeli military to further expand the buffer zone inside Lebanon, vowing that Israel will continue to conduct military operations within Lebanese territory. "This measure is aimed at completely eliminating the threat of [Hezbollah militant] infiltration and preventing anti-tank missile attacks across the border."

While inspecting the Northern Command, Netanyahu noted that while the Lebanese Hezbollah still retains a "residual capability" to fire rockets at Israel, the militant group has suffered severe blows at the hands of the Israeli military.

Netanyahu further added that Israel has "penetrated deep into enemy territory," and that—in addition to Lebanon—the Israeli military has also established buffer zones in Syria and the Gaza Strip.

He declared: "Iran is no longer the Iran of the past; Hezbollah is no longer the Hezbollah of the past; and Hamas is no longer the Hamas of the past. These are no longer terrorist organizations that threaten our very existence. They are defeated enemies, now fighting merely for their own survival."
