亚马逊（Amazon）旗下直播网站Twitch据传计划裁员约500人，占员工总数约35%。
据彭博社报道，这轮裁员行动最早可能在星期三（1月10日）宣布。Twitch正面临亏损，该公司的数位高管在短短几个月内纷纷离职。公司发言人对裁员传闻不予置评。
报道指出，Twitch高管曾透露，尽管公司使用亚马逊的基础设施，但每个月支持18亿小时的视频直播内容，所涉及的成本非常高。
去年12月，Twitch首席执行官克兰西（Dan Clancy）在博客文章中宣布，公司将停止在韩国的运营，因为那里的成本“高得令人望而却步”。
Twitch近年来大力推动广告业务。据知情人士透露，亚马逊收购公司九年后，公司仍未取得盈利。
