The Iranian Foreign Ministry stated that the incident where the US attacked a merchant ship resulting in the deaths of at least three Indian citizens clearly indicates that the essence of the US's actions is "armed robbery" and "state piracy".

Xinhua News Agency reported that Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Bagae made a statement on social media on Friday (June 12th), saying that the international community must hold the US accountable for its illegal actions. Such actions continue to threaten global peace and security, and endanger freedom of navigation.

Indian media reported on the 11th that Indian Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sonowal confirmed on the same day that earlier this week, the US military attacked an oil tanker in the waters off Oman, resulting in the deaths of three Indian seamen.
