国际刑事法院（ICC）检察官办公室说，获ICC授权启动的一项调查，涵盖以色列和巴勒斯坦当前的冲突。
路透社报道，自上周末以巴冲突升级以来，这是ICC检察官办公室对以巴冲突升级的首次回应。
2015年4月1日，巴勒斯坦正式加入ICC《罗马规约》，成为ICC第123个缔约成员。之后巴方要求ICC“对2014年6月13日以来在巴勒斯坦领土所发生的战争罪指控展开调查”。以色列至今没有加入《罗马规约》。
ICC检察官办公室星期二（10月10日）说：“ICC授权进行的这项调查持续进行，而且适用于当前冲突中犯下的罪行。”
ICC检察官还说，他们正在不断收集资料以支持调查工作。
巴勒斯坦激进组织哈马斯10月7日从加沙地带对以色列发动数十年来最猛烈的火箭弹袭击，并派武装分子从海陆空同步进攻以色列。以色列随即展开大规模反击。冲突目前仍在持续，已致双方近2000人死亡、超过6000人受伤。
国际刑事法院位于荷兰海牙。它是第一个也是唯一一个有管辖权起诉犯有灭绝种族罪、危害人类罪、战争罪和侵略罪的个人的常设国际法院。
