The Israeli military said that two missiles flew over the Syrian border on Tuesday (June 3) and landed in an open area within Israel. Israeli Defense Minister Katz said Syrian President Sharah was directly responsible for this and the Israeli military would respond soon.

The Syrian Foreign Ministry denied any connection with the missile incident and said, "Multiple parties are trying to undermine stability in the region to satisfy their own interests."

Reuters reported that the Israeli army subsequently shelled southern Syria. Syrian state media said that Israel attacked an area in the southern Syrian province of Daraa.

The Israel Defense Forces said that they had destroyed the weapons belonging to the Syrian regime.

According to a report by Syria's official news agency SANA on Wednesday (the 4th), Syria condemned Israel's shelling in response to the missile incident and insisted that the Syrian government "does not threaten any side".

The report quoted a statement from the press office of the Syrian Foreign Ministry as saying: "We firmly condemn the bombing by Israel..." This escalation is a blatant violation of Syria's sovereignty and has exacerbated tensions in the region.

The statement said, "Syria has never and will never pose a threat to any party in the region."
