The German chancellor called on Switzerland to step in and defuse the pressure of US tariffs

German Chancellor Merz said he hoped Switzerland could successfully push the United States to lower the "excessively high tariffs" imposed on it.

Reuters reported that Mertz said at a joint press conference with Swiss President Keller Zuter in Berlin on Tuesday (September 2) that the EU had previously managed to secure a certain degree of tariff reduction, but the current situation remains "not easy" for the EU.

Mertz emphasized that the interests of Germany and Germany on this issue converge and they are jointly seeking solutions. He said, "We have similar interests here and are also working together to deal with them." Of course, I would also be happy to include Switzerland in our actions.
