Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu said that Israel intends to control the entire Gaza Strip and claimed that it intends to hand over the governance of Gaza to the armed forces of Arab countries.
Netanyahu was interviewed by Fox News on Thursday (August 7th). When asked whether Israel would control the entire Gaza Strip, he responded: We do indeed intend to do this to ensure our security, eliminate Hamas, free the residents of Gaza from Hamas' rule, and hand over Gaza to a civilian government that is neither Hamas nor any that advocates destroying Israel.
He also said that Israel hopes to establish a safe buffer zone and hand over Gaza to the armed forces of Arab countries for governance.
He added, "We don't want to occupy Gaza for a long time." We want to set up a security boundary. We don't want to govern it, nor do we want to stay in Gaza as a governing body.
It is reported that Netanyahu is inclined to occupy the entire Gaza. The Israeli security Cabinet is scheduled to meet on Thursday local time, and it is expected that the meeting will approve the occupation of Gaza.
