Khamenei accused Trump of being a pipe dream, denying that the US military had destroyed Iran's nuclear facilities

US President Trump claimed that Iran's nuclear facilities were destroyed by US air strikes. Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei refuted this claim, describing such remarks as "dreaming".

AFP reported that Khamenei refuted Trump's remarks about destroying Iran's nuclear facilities in a statement on Monday (October 20), mocking the latter as "keep dreaming". He also said that Trump "has no right to tell what a country has and what its industries should and should not have."

In June this year, Iran and Israel engaged in a fierce 12-day air battle. Later, Trump instructed the US military to join the strike operation and launch air strikes on several key nuclear facilities in Iran.

Although the actual impact of the US air strike is still unclear, Trump still insists that the US attack destroyed Iran's nuclear facilities.

He also restated such claims in a speech to the Israeli Parliament last week: "We dropped 14 bombs on Iran's key nuclear facilities." As I initially said, these facilities have been completely destroyed, and this result has been confirmed.

In an interview with Fox News on Sunday (the 19th), he also claimed that the US air strikes "destroyed Iran's nuclear capabilities" and made Iran "no longer a bully in the Middle East". He even referred to this air strike as "the most perfect military operation".

In his statement on Monday, Khamenei accused Trump's remarks of being "inappropriate, wrong and bullying in nature".

After the conflict in June, nuclear negotiations between Iran and the United States have come to a standstill. Tehran has made it clear that it is willing to resume negotiations only if the United States guarantees not to take military action.
