Israel Defense Forces spokesperson Devlin issued a statement on social media on Monday (January 12th) evening, saying that the domestic demonstrations in Iran are its internal affairs and the Israeli military is on high alert.

Devlin pointed out that recently, rumors about the situation in Iran have been continuous. The Israeli military "has made defensive preparations" and remains on high alert to deal with any unexpected situations. He emphasized that the domestic demonstrations in Iran are Iran's internal affairs.

Devlin also said that the Israeli army will continue to assess the situation and at the same time called on the public "not to believe rumors easily".

On the same day, the US State Department updated its travel alert, urging US citizens to leave Iran immediately.

US President Trump announced on the Social media platform Truth Social on the afternoon of the 12th that any country that has business dealings with Iran will be subject to a 25% tariff when conducting any business dealings with the United States.

Trump said that this was a "final" decision and would take effect "immediately".

Recently, large-scale anti-government demonstrations have broken out in Iran. Trump has repeatedly warned that if Iran uses force against the demonstrators, the United States will intervene.

The Wall Street Journal previously reported that Trump will meet with senior advisers on the 13th to listen to a report on the Iran plan, which includes military strikes, the use of secret cyber weapons, expanding the scope of sanctions, and providing cyber assistance to anti-government forces.
