Apple launches Personal Intelligence system "Apple Smart"

Apple unveiled its personal intelligence (AI) system "Apple Smart" at the Worldwide Developers Conference 2024. The system integrates the power of generative AI and can be applied to many Apple products.

Apple said Monday (June 10) that "Apple Smart" is deeply integrated with the iOS 18, iPadOS 18 and macOS Sequoia operating systems. According to reports, as part of the "Apple Intelligence", the new application "Writing tools" can allow users to rewrite, proofread and summarize text in the mail, notes and other third-party writing applications that come with Apple platforms.

In apps such as "Notes" for Apple products, users can record recordings, and transcribe and summarize the audio to generate summaries.

Users can also create animated, illustrated or sketch-style images in seconds with the newly launched image tool. With Apple Smart, users can use natural language to search for specific clips in specific photos and videos. The new "Clean up" tool also identifies and removes distracting content in the background of photos.

Powered by "Apple Intelligence," voice assistant Siri will have richer language understanding and more natural, contextually relevant and personalized answers.

Apple also said it will integrate ChatGPT, a generative AI tool, into iOS 18, iPadOS 18 and macOS Sequoia platforms later this year, making it free for users to access without creating an account. Before sending questions, documents, or photos to ChatGPT, the user agrees.

Apple said it will launch an English beta version of Apple Smart this fall for iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia, It runs on the iPhone 15Pro, iPhone 15Pro Max, and tablets and computers with the M1 and later versions of the chip, also known as the chip.

Apple CEO Tim Cook says "Apple Smart" will change the way users interact with Apple products. "Our unique approach combines generative AI with the user's personal environment to deliver truly useful intelligent products."
