AFP reported that according to data released by Indonesian authorities on Monday (December 1st), the death toll caused by recent floods and landslides has risen again to 593, with another 468 people missing.
More than 578,000 people were evacuated from the three provinces of Sumatra Island, Indonesia.
This is the most severe natural disaster in Indonesia since the massive earthquake and tsunami on Sulawesi Island in 2018, which claimed over 2,000 lives.
