US President Trump said that if Israel annexed the West Bank, it would lose all support from the United States.
According to a report by Time magazine on Thursday (October 23), Trump made these remarks in a phone interview last Wednesday (October 15), warning Israel not to annex the West Bank.
Trump said, "This won't happen." Because I have already assured the Arab countries, it won't happen.
When asked what consequences Israel would face if it annexed the West Bank, he said straightforwardly, "If that really happened, Israel would lose all support from the United States."
Trump also disclosed that he believes Saudi Arabia will join the Abraham Agreement by the end of the year. This agreement aims to normalize relations between Israel and Arab countries.
The Israeli parliament on Wednesday initially passed a bill to extend Israel's sovereignty to all settlements in the West Bank and another bill to annex a major settlement.
