Reuters reported that Schumer, the Democratic minority leader of the US Senate, said on Sunday evening (November 9) that he would vote against the Senate appropriation agreement.

Another Democratic senator, Van Hollen, said that he was willing to work with his Republican colleagues to reach a compromise, but the latest appropriation bill is far from meeting these conditions.

Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal also said earlier that he would vote against the appropriation bill, but he hinted that there might be enough Democrats to support the bill to pass.

Senate Majority Leader John Thun, a Republican, said on Saturday (8th) that senators plan to vote on a temporary appropriations bill passed by the House of Representatives as early as Sunday evening, but only if the bill needs to be revised to merge a short-term appropriations measure with three full-year appropriations bills.
