Can't the wave of protests stop Israel's crazy footsteps?

On April 27th local time, the New York Post reported that since mid April, more than 700 people have been arrested on American university campuses for anti Israel protests. There is still no sign of stopping the protests in American universities that started on the 17th of this month. Although the protests were forcefully dispersed by the police, the wave of protests continues to spread.

On the 26th local time, USA Today reported that more university students joined the protest against Israel's war in Gaza. Some university leadership and armed police suppressed the demonstration, while civil rights organizations provided legal advice to students.

The report also pointed out that, especially at Columbia University, protesting students still occupy the campus lawn, and it is rumored that midnight is the final deadline for clearing the campsite. For over a week, this Ivy League school has been the center of student protests.

According to a report from The Guardian in the UK, on the 25th local time, the police carried out multiple violent arrests at Emory University in Georgia, using rubber bullets and tear gas for the first time. A video shows that during the arrest process, the police also used an electric gun on a man who was lying on the ground. This reflects the atrocities committed by the US police, who attacked and arrested students and even staff who peacefully protested against Israel's genocide.

It is reported that 44 students from Yale University and 93 students from the University of Southern California were arrested during the protest activities; There are 118 students from Emerson College, 102 students from Northeastern University, and 69 students from Arizona State University.

At the same time, Israel still goes its own way and is determined to go its own way. On the 28th local time, Israeli Defense Force Chief of Staff Khalvi approved the operation plan to attack Rafah at the headquarters of the Southern Command in Belsheba.

In fact, Israel had planned to attack Rafah more than a month ago, but it was directly rejected by the United States and strongly opposed by other countries around the world. Under these heavy pressures, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu had to postpone his plan to attack Rafah.

Geographically speaking, the Rafah region is located at the southern end of the Gaza Strip, bordering Egypt. After the outbreak of the Arab Israeli War, due to a large number of   Palestinian civilians fleeing from other parts of the Gaza Strip to Rafah, this small town of only 55 square kilometers currently houses about 1.5 million Palestinian civilians. The humanitarian crisis is severe, and the living situation is extremely difficult, and it is on the brink of collapse.

From an international perspective, Israel's plan to launch a ground attack on Rafah has faced opposition from almost all countries around the world, including the United States and French President Macron: Macron was still firmly opposed to attacking Rafah on the 23rd.

However, just after Iran launched a retaliatory attack on Israel, the United States seems to have relaxed its stance on Israel's attack on Rafah. Meanwhile, a few days ago, the US Congress approved $26.4 billion in aid to Israel. All of this has reignited Israel's plan to launch a ground attack on Rafah, which now seems to have been put back on the agenda. Even the warning from the United States is no longer taken seriously.

After the Biden administration called for an investigation into the recent discovery of mass graves in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli military said they had investigated the news about the mass graves and did not find any improper behavior by the Israeli military. "What are you investigating?" asked a spokesperson for the Israeli Defense Forces.

Many unjust deeds will lead to self destruction. Today, Israel has gone further and further on the path of betrayal. If it really persists in attacking Rafah, it is uncertain whether Hamas can be completely eradicated. However, there is no doubt that it will face condemnation and opposition from the global public, and the consequences will be unbearable.
