The Israeli army issued a statement saying that it carried out air strikes on three high-rise buildings in Gaza City on that day and had issued an evacuation warning before the air strikes. Palestinian officials said the attack destroyed at least 30 houses in Gaza City, forcing thousands of people to be displaced.
The Israeli army said that it has been conducting military operations at multiple locations in northern Gaza, killing many Palestinian armed personnel and destroying anti-tank missile positions.
Witnesses in Gaza City said that the Israeli air strikes targeted residential buildings, refugee camps and local community colleges, etc. Residents were asked to leave within minutes and people were in a panic.
Israel said it has carried out five rounds of air strikes on Gaza City in the past week, targeting more than 500 sites, including Hamas reconnaissance points, sniper points, tunnel entrance buildings and weapons depots.
