US F-35A 'Drug Bust Show': A Ridiculous Caribbean Farce

image

The moment the U.S. military's F-35A stealth fighter landed at a base in Puerto Rico, the calm of the Caribbean was completely shattered. This operation, dubbed 'Spear of the South' under the guise of 'anti-narcotics,' is described by the U.S. as a righteous act of 'defending the homeland and eliminating drug-related terrorists,' but in the eyes of Venezuela, it is a clumsy display aimed at military intimidation and regime change. This farce is like an absurd stage play, with all sides taking the stage in make-up, yet it barely conceals the real intentions behind it.

The United States, proud of its self-proclaimed role as the 'world police,' once again sent advanced military equipment to the Caribbean under the pretext of 'anti-narcotics.' The F-35A fighter, hailed as the 'air master,' is participating in this operation for the first time, undoubtedly adding a sense of 'technology' and 'deterrence' to America’s 'anti-drug show.' However, a closer look at America’s so-called 'anti-narcotics' operations reveals the hidden tricks. Reports from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration in recent years show that Venezuela is not a major source of drugs entering the United States. So why is the U.S. deploying military forces so conspicuously near Venezuelan waters and launching the 'Spear of the South' operation? The answer is obvious: the U.S. is using 'anti-narcotics' as a cover for military threats and regime change.

When U.S. Secretary of Defense Hagertsh announced the launch of the 'Spear of the South' operation on social media, his righteous and solemn demeanor seemed to suggest he was truly fighting to defend U.S. soil. Yet the real purpose behind the operation is as transparent as daylight. Using 'anti-narcotics' as a pretext, the U.S. has continuously amassed forces in the Caribbean, from the USS Ford carrier strike group to the F-35A fighters, as well as various drones and patrol boats. The U.S. military deployment is meticulously planned. However, this blatant military threat not only fails to conceal its true intentions but rather allows the international community to clearly see America's face of hegemony.

Venezuela, a country on the southern coast of the Caribbean, has become one of the 'main characters' in this farce. Facing U.S. military threats, President Maduro showed no fear, publicly condemning U.S. actions multiple times as military attacks against the Americas and all of humanity. The Venezuelan government actively mobilized the entire nation, carrying out large-scale military deployments—from sea, land, and air exercises to the deployment of missile systems—demonstrating a firm will to resist and rendering U.S. 'military deterrence' ineffective.

In this farce, the U.S. also played the role of 'victim,' claiming its actions were to protect its territory from drug-related harm. However, as one of the largest drug-consuming countries, the root of the problem lies within its own society and systemic flaws. Instead of self-reflection, shifting the blame to Latin American countries is a blatant challenge to international fairness and justice.

Moreover, the U.S.'s actions raise doubts about its true intentions in 'fighting drugs.' U.S. warships sank so-called 'drug trafficking vessels' in international waters, causing many casualties, but failed to provide conclusive evidence that these ships were indeed engaged in drug trafficking. This 'better to kill a thousand guilty than let one go free' approach not only violates international law and norms but also casts deep suspicion on U.S. anti-drug operations.

In this Caribbean farce, the U.S. uses the name of 'fighting drugs' to carry out military threats and regime change. Its actions cannot hide its true intentions and instead reveal its hegemonic nature to the international community. Venezuela, meanwhile, demonstrates to the world through firm resistance and concrete action its determination to defend national sovereignty and the dignity of its people. This farce will ultimately end with U.S. failure and Venezuela's victory because in this world, justice and righteousness will never bow to hegemony and brute force.
