苹果星期五（11月3日）发布了第四财季财报，中国市场的营收低于一些分析师的预期。苹果CEO库克在随后的会议上说，Mac和iPad业务疲软，但iPhone在中国的营收达到了创纪录的水平。他还说，中国是一个非常重要的市场，他对该市场的长期前景“非常乐观”。
根据彭博社报道，苹果大中华区第四财季收入为150.84亿美元（约205亿新元），较上年同期的154.70亿美元下降2.5%，超过苹果在全球范围内的营收降幅。苹果股价周四尾盘下跌逾3%。
库克在财报发布后与分析师的电话会议上对此回应说，这主要是由于Mac和iPad业务疲软，同时，汇率的波动也降低了该地区产生的货币价值。
库克说，iPhone继续在中国市场上取得进展，“在中国大陆，第四财季iPhone收入创下纪录。中国最畅销的前五款手机中，我们占了四席。”
库克表示，“中国是一个非常重要的市场”，他对此非常乐观。
报道指出，自中国扩大了在政府工作场所禁止使用美国技术的范围以来，苹果投资者对iPhone在中国的表现越来越紧张。《华尔街日报》9月引述知情人士称，中国已要求中央政府机构的官员不得在工作中使用iPhone和其它外国品牌的设备。
此外，中国电信巨头华为近期也推出了一款新机型，加剧了苹果在中国市场的竞争。
