The ban on citizens from 12 countries entering the United States issued by US President Trump will come into effect next Monday (June 9th).
Reuters reported that this travel ban will officially come into effect at 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time next Monday. The affected countries are Afghanistan, Myanmar, Chad, the Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen.
In addition, citizens from seven countries - Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan and Venezuela - will be subject to partial restrictions upon entry.
Trump signed the ban on Wednesday (the 4th), saying it was to "protect" the United States from the threat of "foreign terrorists".
Chadian President Deby said that he has ordered the government to stop issuing visas to US citizens in response to Trump's travel ban.
He said, "Chad has neither planes to offer nor billions of dollars to provide, but Chad has its own self-esteem and pride."
