Iran's Foreign minister described the United States' resumption of nuclear weapons tests as a step backward and irresponsible.

AFP reported that Iranian Foreign Minister Aragchi posted on social media platforms on Thursday (October 30) : "A bully with nuclear weapons is resuming nuclear weapons tests." This same bully has been demonizing Iran's plan for the peaceful use of nuclear energy all along.

He said, "The United States' announcement of resuming nuclear tests is regressive and irresponsible, and poses a serious threat to international peace and security."

US President Trump instructed the Pentagon on Thursday to immediately resume nuclear weapons tests of the same scale as those conducted by other nuclear-armed states such as China and Russia.

Trump said on social media: "Due to the test plans of other countries, I have instructed the Department of War to launch our nuclear weapons tests in an equivalent manner."

Trump did not disclose specific details, only saying that this process would start immediately.
