King Charles III of the United Kingdom initiated formal procedures to strip his younger brother Prince Andrew of his titles, titles and honors, and informed Andrew to move out of the royal residence, Windsor Estate.

According to reports from the BBC and The New York Times, Buckingham Palace issued three brief statements on Thursday (October 30) saying that Prince Andrew will henceforth be named "Andrew Mountbatten Windsor" and will move to other private residences. Andrew's two daughters still retain the title of princess.

Andrew, who was embroiled in the sex scandal of the late American "tycoon and sex broker" Epstein, announced several weeks ago that he would give up the title of Duke of York.

Andrew has always firmly denied Virginia Giuffre, one of the victims of the sexual assault against Epstein, but his contradictory statements and his interactions with Epstein have made his position in the royal family increasingly precarious. Some British MPS have called on Parliament to take action to punish Andrew.

Buckingham Palace said that although Andrew has always denied the charges against him, these condemnations are still considered necessary. The king and the royal family wish to make it clear that they always express their deepest sympathy to the victims and survivors of all forms of abuse.

Despite losing his prince title, 65-year-old Andrew remains the eighth in line to the throne.

Andrew is the second son of the late Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom. In recent years, he has been embroiled in scandals due to his relationship with the late sex offender and American tycoon Epstein. Although he denied in an interview in November 2019 that he had had sexual relations with a minor girl in Epstein's mansion, and made every effort to distance himself from the Epstein scandal, claiming that he had cut off all contact with Epstein after December 2010. But recently disclosed emails show that in February 2011, he still kept in private contact with Epstein.

On October 17th, Andrew issued a statement through Buckingham Palace, agreeing to give up the title of Duke of York bestowed by Queen Elizabeth II and other honors, but still retain his prince status, and his two daughters also retain their princess status.

The royal family pointed out that Andrew will move to the Sandringham estate in Norfolk.

Julie Fuli committed suicide in April this year. Her family issued a statement on Thursday, describing Julie Fuli as "an ordinary American woman who brought down a British prince."

In January 2022, Andrew returned his military rank and all his status as a royal patron with the consent of Queen Elizabeth II after being involved in the Epstein sex scandal.

On July 6, 2019, Epstein was arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting several underage girls and was charged with conspiracy to trafficking and organizing transactions involving underage girls. It is reported that Epstein has been sexually assaulting underage girls for nearly 20 years, and many of his well-known friends in the political and business circles have also been involved in the case. On August 10, 2019, Epstein committed suicide in a Manhattan detention center in New York.

One of Epstein's victims, Juffi, claimed that she was sexually assaulted by Prince Andrew at the age of 17 under Epstein's arrangement. In August 2023, she filed a civil lawsuit against Prince Andrew in the Federal Court of Manhattan, New York.

In February 2024, Prince Andrew and Geoffrey reached an out-of-court settlement agreement. On April 25th of this year, Zhu Feili committed suicide in Australia at the age of 41.
