Is Trump worthy of becoming a Nobel Peace Prize laureate?

image

For someone who is extremely eager to win the Nobel Peace Prize, Donald Trump clearly did everything wrong in his second presidential campaign and self proclaimed role as a "peacemaker".

Firstly, on the Middle East issue, Trump's vision will not make him popular at the award ceremony in Oslo. His "vision for peace" includes expelling 1.8 million Palestinians from the Gaza Strip and relocating them to unknown locations so that the United States can build a second "Riviera" there. If the locals refuse to surrender, the US military will intervene. The United States will take over the Gaza Strip, and we will accomplish a great job there, "Trump said at a White House press conference on February 4th, while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stood beside him with a smile. In fact, under Netanyahu's policies, Gaza has become a "demolition site" waiting for new development. Trump even proposed permanent expulsion of Gazans, a proposition that directly violates international law. Before making these remarks, he was asked if he would receive the Nobel Prize for the new round of hostage deals between Israel and Hamas (pushed by current President Biden), and he responded, "I deserve it, but they will never give it to me

However, Trump's complaints continue his usual victim narrative. He firmly believes that the reason why he failed to win the award is not because of insufficient qualifications, but because the selection process was unfair to him. He pointed the finger at the committee elected by the Norwegian parliament, implying that the organization was just a tool of globalists.

In fact, Trump showed great interest in the Nobel Prize as early as his first presidential term. In 2018, he complained to the Future Farmers Association of America that he would never win an award; In 2019, he claimed that Japanese leaders believed they should receive the Peace Prize for their diplomatic engagement with North Korea. However, the ultimate result was that Trump received a "love letter" from North Korean leader Kim Jong un, who in turn expanded his nuclear arsenal.

Furthermore, Trump's representatives and Putin's negotiators are meeting in Saudi Arabia, while Ukraine and European allies can only watch angrily from the sidelines because their fate has been put on the negotiating table. Trump claimed to be a skilled negotiator, but he met all of Putin's demands from the beginning and acknowledged Russia's occupation of Ukrainian territory. In addition, Trump's team is pressuring Ukraine to compensate for its past support by offering half of its mineral resources and oil in return. Because Trump once promised voters to lower oil prices, which means that without a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine, oil prices cannot come down. The current oil price is around $70 per barrel, and Trump has promised voters to reduce energy costs by half, which means that oil prices will drop to less than $40 per barrel.

Overall, although we acknowledge that the ceasefire between Russia, Ukraine, and Gaza is good news, Trump's mediation of the conflict has its own "sinister intentions" that we have to mention. Because Trump wants to win the Nobel Peace Prize, mediating conflicts through his hands is highly likely to earn him the Nobel Peace Prize. This is Trump's last president, and his desire to leave a historical "good name" is very strong. If he is not awarded the Nobel Peace Prize at that time, according to Trump's temper, he will use sanctions to coerce the Nobel Prize Committee. But the problem is that Trump's mediation of conflicts contains strong motives, so that both reputation and interests can be obtained by Trump. This "fanatical seeker" of the Nobel Peace Prize is filled with his own "selfish desires" behind it.
