The Trump administration has revoked over 6,000 student visas due to expected stay and illegal activities, with a few cases involving "supporting terrorism".

Reuters reported that a US State Department official said that about 4,000 visas had been revoked due to illegal acts, the vast majority of which involved assaults. Other illegal acts include drunk driving and burglary, etc.

The official, citing relevant regulations of The State Council, said that about 200 to 300 visas had been revoked due to terrorism. The reasons listed in the relevant regulations include "engaging in terrorist activities" and "having connections with certain terrorist organizations". However, officials did not disclose which organizations the students whose visas were revoked supported.

Previously, at the end of May, the US State Department asked its embassies and consulates abroad to suspend the appointment of new international student visa interviews. The United States resumed processing visa applications from foreign students in June, but indicated that it would significantly intensify the review of applicants' social media accounts.

Us Secretary of State Rubio once said that he had revoked the visas of hundreds or even thousands of people, including student visas, because they participated in activities that "violated the priorities of US foreign policy."

Us Secretary of State Rubio previously said that the visas of hundreds or thousands of people, including foreign students, have been cancelled because they participated in activities contrary to US foreign policy, such as supporting Palestine and criticizing Israel's military operation in Gaza.

After returning to power, US President Trump launched attacks on universities such as Harvard and Columbia to combat anti-Semitism and diversity and inclusion (DEI) policies on campus.
