The office of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu said that according to Israel's policy, any future negotiations between Israel and Hamas will be carried out amid artillery fire to achieve all war goals.

Xinhua News Agency reported that Netanyahu's office issued a statement on Sunday (May 11) saying that the United States has informed Israel that Hamas will release Edan Alexander, a hostage with dual citizenship of the United States and Israel. This move is a gesture shown by Hamas to the United States. It is expected to facilitate negotiations between the two sides on the release of the remaining hostages based on the ceasefire plan previously proposed by the US Special Envoy for the Middle East, Witkov.

Israel has previously agreed to the plan and is preparing for its possible realization.

Hamas issued a statement on the evening of the 11th, saying that Hamas has been in contact with the US government in the past few days. The release of Aidan Alexander is part of the efforts to achieve a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, open border crossings and allow aid supplies to be delivered to the people in the Gaza Strip. Hamas is ready to start negotiations and do its utmost to reach a final agreement to stop the war, exchange detained personnel, and have an independent and professional committee manage the Gaza Strip to ensure that the region remains calm and stable for many years to come, while carrying out reconstruction and ending the blockade.
