Kaya Karas, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, said that the United States remains Europe's main ally. She tried to downplay the newly released national security strategy of the United States, which is critical of European institutions.

Kaja Kallas said in response to questions about the US strategy at the Doha Forum, the annual diplomatic conference held in Doha, the capital of Qatar, on Saturday (December 6) : "Of course, there are many criticisms, but I think some of them are also true." If you look at Europe, you will find that it has always underestimated its own strength over Russia.

Karas emphasized: "The United States remains our greatest ally..." I think we don't agree on all issues, but the overall principle remains unchanged. We are the most powerful Allies and we should stand united.

Reuters reported that previously, the Trump administration stated in the "National Security Strategy" document that Europe was facing the "demise of civilization" and might one day lose its status as a reliable ally. The new US national security strategy was released on the White House website between Thursday night (the 4th) and early Friday morning (the 5th). The document condemns the EU for being anti-democratic and accuses Europe of lacking confidence, stating that the US goal should be "to help Europe correct its current trajectory."

Since returning to the White House earlier this year, US President Trump has been targeting Europe. In the new national security strategy of the United States, President Trump has launched a full-scale offensive against Europe.

Analysts point out that the signal sent by the Trump administration through this national security strategy is that the United States hopes to see a completely different Europe. The United States' questioning of the legitimacy of European governments is tantamount to launching a major political attack on its Allies. Some analysts also say that this document will intensify Europe's current concerns over the current state of transatlantic relations and the US stance towards Russia, and may further strengthen the far-right forces in Europe.

This new strategy of the United States deviates significantly from its past policies, criticizing Europe as a continent with excessive regulation and strict censorship, lacking confidence and facing the crisis of having its civilization erased due to immigration issues. The document focuses on criticizing issues such as European institutions that undermine political freedom and sovereignty, Europe's immigration policies, censorship of freedom of speech and suppression of political opposition, the sharp decline in the birth rate, and the loss of national identity. The document points out that if the current trend continues, the European continent will be unrecognizable in 20 years or even less.

Sumantra Maitra, a senior fellow at the American Center for Rehabilitation, said, "This completely shifts the blame onto Europe. They are our closest Allies and partners, and they are more capable than anyone else of doing something."
