Five people have been wounded in a stabbing attack in Tel Aviv, Israel. The attacker has been killed.
Local police said on Tuesday that initial investigations showed a man armed with a knife stabbed another person on Grudenberg Street after stabbing four people on Binyamin Street. One of the injured is in serious condition with a knife wound to the neck.
Police also confirmed that a 28-year-old attacker from a foreign country had been killed.
Binyamin Street in and around Tel Aviv is famous for its restaurants and nightlife.
The Palestinian militant group Hamas did not claim responsibility, but issued a statement praising the attack as a "heroic stabbing" and a sign that resistance to Israel was "increasing."
It was the second stabbing attack in Tel Aviv in four days. Another attacker was shot dead after seriously stabbing a person last Saturday.
