The European Union has announced a new aid package of more than 100 million euros for Gaza.

The European Commission on Thursday approved a €120 million aid package for Gaza, covering food, health care and housing, as well as clean water, Agence France-Presse reported.

Humanitarian organizations have repeatedly called for a safe and unimpeded passage of aid to Gaza. Since 2023, the European Commission has provided more than €450 million in humanitarian aid to Gaza and delivered more than 3,800 metric tons of aid.

Palestinian Prime Minister Mustafa is in Brussels for talks with senior European Union officials. He met with European Council President Antonio Costa on Thursday and will meet with EU Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Chief Jean-Claude Kallas on Friday.

Qatar and the United States announced Wednesday that Israel and Hamas have reached an agreement for a cease-fire and the release of hostages in Gaza. An EU spokesman said Brussels hoped the cease-fire would significantly improve humanitarian access to Gaza and ensure that aid could be effectively distributed to those in need.
