The Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Thailand and the Tourism Authority of Thailand, in collaboration with multiple institutions, launched the "Trustworthy Thailand" certification program in Bangkok.
According to the Tourism Authority of Thailand on Thursday (November 13th), this project is a long-term initiative launched by the Tourism Authority of Thailand to enhance tourism safety and service standards. It not only focuses on improving the institutional system but also helps to shape Thailand's image as a safe and reassuring tourism destination.
Tourism institutions participating in the certification need to be evaluated in four aspects, including comprehensive safety measures, a safe and transparent electronic payment system, multilingual services and professional tourist reception capabilities, as well as requirements for safe and convenient transportation routes and clear guidance. It is estimated that about 5,000 hotels, restaurants, scenic spots, shopping centers and leisure and entertainment venues across Thailand will participate in the assessment. Enterprises that pass the certification will receive promotion support from the Tourism Authority of Thailand in domestic and international channels. The validity period of the certification is two years.
China News Service quoted Thailand's Minister of Tourism and Sports, Atakorn, as saying in his speech that the "Trustworthy Thailand" logo is a direct manifestation of Thailand's tourism safety and reliability, and helps enhance tourists' confidence in returning to Thailand. This project further enhances international tourists' trust in Thailand's tourism environment by continuously improving safety standards, strengthening interdepartmental collaboration, improving information communication efficiency and optimizing tourist services.
Tapeni, the director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, said, "The 'Trustworthy Thailand' project is not only a tourism quality standard, but also reflects the common mission of the public and private sectors to work together to build Thailand into a safe, high-quality and trustworthy tourist destination."
Yang Xiaolong, cultural counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Thailand, said that over the past 50 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the friendly relations between China and Thailand have continued to deepen, and tourism cooperation has always played an important role. Safety is a key factor influencing tourists' travel choices. The launch of the "Trustworthy Thailand" project by the Thai side is of great significance and deserves positive recognition. This initiative will provide Chinese tourists with safer and better guarantees when traveling in Thailand.
