A large-scale right-wing demonstration broke out in London, the capital of the United Kingdom. More than 100,000 people took to the streets holding the flags of England and the United Kingdom and clashed with the police. More than 20 police officers were injured and 25 were arrested.
Reuters reported that the Metropolitan Police in London said that about 110,000 people demonstrated in central London on Saturday (September 13th), and another about 5,000 people participated in the counter-demonstration protest against racism. The police separated the two groups of people on that day.
The huge scale of the demonstration was overwhelming for the police. The demonstrators deviated from the originally approved Whitehall route. The police claimed that they encountered "unacceptable violence" when attempting to stop the demonstrators. Some police officers were punched and kicked, and bottles, signal flares and other projectiles were thrown at them.
The police said that 26 police officers were injured, among whom four were seriously wounded. As many as 25 people were arrested. The police are identifying the participants in the riot and will take strong measures against them in the coming days and weeks.
This demonstration, organized by anti-immigrant activist Tommy Robinson and themed "Kingdom of Unity", is one of the largest right-wing demonstrations in modern Britain. Robinson's original name was Stephen Yaxley-Lennon.
The demonstrators were holding the British flag and the red and white St. George's Cross flag of England. Some others carried the American flag and the Israeli flag, and wore President Trump's "Make America Great Again" (MAGA) hat.
They chanted slogans criticizing Prime Minister Stammer and held up anti-immigrant placards such as "Send them home". Some participants also brought their children to the event.
When addressing his supporters, Robinson declared that the public was showing a "surging wave of patriotism" : "Today is the spark of the British Cultural Revolution. This is our moment."

The number of asylum applications in the UK is approaching a record high, and the immigration issue has become a dominant political topic. Since the beginning of this year, more than 28,000 migrants have arrived in the UK by small boat across the English Channel.
Robinson, who claimed to be a journalist exposing the government's misconduct, has been convicted many times. The UK's largest anti-immigrant party, the Reform Party, has been leading in the polls in recent months, but has always kept a distance from Robinson.
The police said they deployed more than 1,600 officers in London on Saturday. In addition to maintaining order at two demonstrations, the London Police Force also has to deal with highly anticipated football matches and concerts.
