Trump said that international law power is not necessary and is only bound by one's own morality

US President Trump claimed that his "own moral code" was the only constraint for him to order military action worldwide.

Just a few days before making these remarks, Trump launched a blitzkrieg, overthrowing Venezuelan President Maduro and threatening to take action against many other countries, including Greenland.

When interviewed by The New York Times on Wednesday (January 7th), Trump was asked whether there were any limitations to his global power. To this, he replied, "Yes, only a little." That is my own moral code, my own thoughts. This is the only thing that can restrain me.

He also said, "I don't need international law. I have no intention of harming others."

The Republican president then added, "I do" need to abide by international law, but "it depends on what your definition of international law is."

AFP reported that the United States is not a member of the International Criminal Court (ICC), which trials war criminals, and has repeatedly rejected the rulings of the International Court of Justice (ICJ), the highest court of the United Nations.
