All 12 Cubesats carried by South Korea's self-developed carrier rocket, the World, have achieved space-ground interaction with the ground station.
Yonhap News Agency reported on Monday (December 8) that the last three Cubesatellites of the Nuri rocket have successfully communicated with the ground station, according to multiple sources.
The World rocket was launched on November 27th, carrying the new-generation Medium Satellite 3 and 12 Cubesats, and successfully sent 13 satellites into the predetermined orbit at an altitude of 600 kilometers. On December 2nd, the Korea Aerospace Exploration Agency and the Aerospace Research Institute announced that there are still three Cubesats that have not yet achieved their first interaction. According to multiple reports on the 8th, these three satellites have now successfully communicated with the ground station.
As a result, the World satellite successfully completed all its tasks including launching into space, sending the satellite into orbit, and assisting the satellite in normal operation. Analysts believe that in the previous two launches of the World, the Cubesats carried failed to interact with the ground. The successful launch this time proves that South Korea's space technology has reached a new level.
