US President Trump signed an executive order on drug advertisements on Tuesday (September 9).
Reuters reported that senior US government officials said the government will send about 100 enforcement letters and thousands of warning letters to companies that produce drug advertisements on Tuesday.
They pointed out that they are collaborating with the pharmaceutical industry to explore potential direct-to-consumer sales of drugs at most-favored-nation prices.
Senior US government officials said they will also review cases where drugs are promoted on social media platforms in violation of regulations.
