至少六家中国奶茶连锁品牌据报正准备在香港和美国首次上市，原因是这两个市场受到的监管审查，或将比在中国大陆来得少。
据彭博社星期一（7月24日）报道，知情人士透露，这些准备在海外上市的企业包括蜜雪冰城。蜜雪冰城是中国规模最大的奶茶连锁品牌。
蜜雪冰城在中国有2.5万家门店，在海外则有3000家门店。该公司2021年曾考虑在香港上市。知情人士透露，蜜雪冰城去年曾申请在深圳进行9.18亿美元（约12.22亿新元）的首次公开募股（IPO），但后来被搁置。
据报道，中国监管机构今年早些时候发布了指导方针，称不鼓励某些类型的公司在中国A股市场上市，同时全面禁止酒类公司和课外辅导公司上市。
一名知情人士说，监管机构也建议，依赖爆炸式特许经营业务模式的公司也不能在中国上市。
法国外贸银行（Natixis）驻香港经济学家吴卓殷（Gary Ng）分析说，中国食品和饮料连锁店通常依靠快速扩张来获得巨大的市场份额，这也意味着在杠杆作用下，这些公司的企业健康状况可能不佳，如果有新的、好的竞争对手，这些连锁店通常很容易被取代。
两年前在香港上市的奶茶连锁品牌奈雪的茶，股价已较IPO价格下跌了约70%。
