印度政府称，印度将允许向菲律宾等国家出口非巴斯马蒂米，菲律宾是全球最大的大米进口国之一。
路透社报道，作为世界上最大的白米出口国，印度在7月颁布禁令，不许非巴斯马蒂米出口海外，随后又对煮熟的大米货物征收20%的税，以抑制印度国内白米价格并确保国内市场供应充足。
不过新德里星期三（10月18日）称，会根据具体情况考虑对有需要的国家提供大米。印度将向菲律宾供应29.5万吨非巴斯马蒂米。
菲律宾大部分的进口需求通常依赖越南，菲总统马科斯已设定了大米价格上限，以遏制通货膨胀。
除了菲律宾外，新德里还将向尼泊尔、喀麦隆、马来西亚、塞舌尔、象牙海岸和几内亚共和国供应非巴斯马蒂米。印度将向这七个国家累计出口略高于100万公吨的大米。
印度政府一名消息人士称，在农民收割新季作物前，印度不太可能考虑更多的大米供应请求。
印度农民刚刚开始收割稻谷。虽然种植者今年种植了更大面积的大米，但印度部分地区的零星降雨可能会影响作物产量。
