At least 15 people have been killed as Israeli forces continue to bomb the Gaza Strip

Israeli forces continued to bombard the Gaza Strip on Sunday, killing at least 15 people.

In the central Nusserat refugee camp, an Israeli air strike on a house killed six people, medics said, Reuters reported. In Gaza City, an Israeli air strike on a house killed three people.

Two children were killed when a missile hit a tent camp in Khan Younis in the south, medics told Reuters, while four others were killed in an air strike in Rafah near the Egyptian border.

Residents said Israeli troops blew up several houses in the northern Jabaliya, Beit Lahiya and Beit Hanoun districts.

Palestinians have accused Israel of forcing evacuations and bombing the northern Gaza Strip with the aim of clearing people to create a buffer zone. The Israeli army denies the charge.

A prisoner rights group said Sunday that two Palestinians from Gaza have died in Israeli custody, bringing to 47 the number of reported detainee deaths since the war began.

Israel has previously denied allegations by Palestinian and international human rights groups that detainees have been mistreated and tortured in its prisons and detention camps.

Meanwhile, Hamas leaders held talks with Egyptian security officials in Cairo to explore ways to reach a deal with Israel to secure the release of hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners.

Hamas wants a deal to end the war, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says the war will only end if Hamas is eliminated.
