Russian President Vladimir Putin met with North Korean Foreign Minister Choe Sun-hee and said that Russia-North Korea relations are developing as planned.
AFP reported that Putin made the above remarks during his meeting with Choe Sun-hee at the Kremlin on Monday (October 27).
When Choi Sun-hee met with Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov earlier, she praised the "spiritual closeness" between Moscow and Pyongyang. She also conveyed the sincere greetings of North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong UN.
Choi Sun-hee's visit to Russia this time is the latest part of the recent intensive diplomatic interactions between Russia and North Korea. Kim Jong UN promised to advance military cooperation with Russia.
Since the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine war, Russia and North Korea have continuously deepened their cooperation and signed a strategic partnership agreement in 2024, which includes mutual defense provisions.
North Korea has also dispatched thousands of soldiers and a large number of weapons containers to support the Russian army. According to South Korea's estimation, at least 600 North Korean soldiers have lost their lives on the battlefield between Russia and Ukraine.
