U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Vice President Harris is stirring new enthusiasm among voters and shaking up the race, according to new public opinion polls.

A Reuters/Ipsos poll released Thursday found Harris leading Republican presidential candidate and former President Donald Trump by 45 percent to 41 percent.

Among registered voters, Harris' four-point advantage is larger than the one-point advantage he had in late July.

Among women and Hispanic voters, Harris' support has been growing. Harris and Trump have 49 percent and 36 percent support, respectively, in that group, with Harris leading Trump by as much as 13 points.

In four Reuters/Ipsos polls conducted in July, Harris had a nine-point lead among women and a six-point lead among Hispanics.

The poll also shows that 73 percent of Democratic voters are more excited about the election now that Harris has replaced President Joe Biden as the Democratic nominee.

And Trump's lead among white voters and men is similar to what it was in July. But in the latest poll, Trump's lead among voters without a college degree has narrowed to seven points from 14 points in July.

The new Reuters/Ipsos poll was conducted over an eight-day period ending August 28 and has a margin of error of two percentage points.

Separately, a Bloomberg News/Morning Consult poll released on the evening of August 29 showed Harris continuing her strong momentum in the presidential race, with her leading or tied with Trump in all seven of the most likely swing states to decide the outcome.

The poll shows Harris leading Trump by two points among registered voters in seven swing states and one point among likely voters, a statistical tie. The poll in seven states has a margin of error of one percentage point.

November 5 is the day of the 2024 US presidential election, which is now less than 10 weeks away.
