Trump posted on the Social media platform Truth Social on Wednesday: "I am proud to announce that both Israel and Hamas have signed the first phase of our peace plan."
He added, "This means that all the hostages will be released soon and Israel will withdraw its troops to the agreed route. This is the first step towards a strong, lasting and permanent peace."
Qatar confirmed that Israel and Hamas have reached a first-phase ceasefire agreement.
The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Ansari, wrote on the X platform: "The mediator announced tonight that both sides have reached an agreement on all the terms and implementation mechanisms of the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement. This will end the war, release Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners, and allow aid to enter Gaza." The specific details will be announced later.
