The UK has dispatched experts and equipment to Belgium to assist it in dealing with the problem of drone harassment.
Reuters reported that over the past week, traces of drones have been seen multiple times over airports and military bases in Belgium, affecting aircraft take-offs and landings. Drone incidents have caused severe disruption across Europe in recent months.
Richard Knighton, the commander-in-chief of the British Armed Forces, told the BBC on Sunday (November 9) that Belgium has requested assistance from the UK and that British equipment and personnel are on their way to Belgium.
Netton said, "Last weekend, I reached an agreement with the Defense Minister (Healy) that we will send personnel and equipment to Belgium to assist them in dealing with this incident." He did not disclose what kind of equipment or the number of personnel would be dispatched.
Netton said it is still unclear who is behind the drone incident, but he pointed out that Russia has been engaged in a "hybrid war" in recent years.
Russia denies any connection with these incidents.
