Iran's Foreign Minister Ali Larijani made phone calls late on Sunday (June 7th) to the foreign ministers of the UK, France, Turkey, the leader of Qatar, and the mediator from Pakistan to discuss the latest developments in the Middle East.
AFP reported that the Iranian Foreign Ministry issued a statement saying that the focus of these individual discussions was Iran's response to Israel's "frequent violations of the Lebanese ceasefire agreement", but no further details were provided.
The Islamic Republic News Agency of Iran (IRNA) quoted the Iranian Foreign Ministry as reporting that Alaghziz had held phone conversations with the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar, Mohammed, as well as the foreign ministers of France, the United Kingdom and Turkey, and members of the Pakistani mediation team.
On the day when Alagizhi held a phone call with European and regional foreign ministers, Israel launched a deadly air strike on the suburbs of Beirut, Lebanon, while Iran fired at least four waves of missiles at Israel that night.
Pakistan is acting as the mediator between Tehran and Washington, and is attempting to facilitate the signing of an agreement between the US and Iran to end the war.
