Joint statement by the top officials of Israel's three parties: Continue military operations in southern Lebanon

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, Defense Minister Katz and Chief of Staff Zamil issued a joint statement, reiterating that the Israeli military will continue its military operations in southern Lebanon to address "security threats", while maintaining the "security zone" controlled by the Israeli side in southern Lebanon.

Reuters reported that Netanyahu, Katz and Zamir issued a joint statement after a security meeting on Monday (June 22), saying that the Israeli military will continue to take actions to "eliminate" threats against Israeli soldiers and citizens, destroy the infrastructure of the militants, and maintain the security zone in southern Lebanon.

The statement added that these three high-ranking officials "clearly stated that ensuring the safety of Israeli citizens and the defense forces has always been their unwavering guiding principle."

The Prime Minister's Office also issued a statement saying that the three individuals held a meeting with the commander of the northern command of the Israeli army to assess the security situation on the northern front. The Israeli army will continue to "unwaveringly" take action to destroy relevant military infrastructure and eliminate threats.

According to Xinhua News Agency, Netanyahu said earlier in the day that the Israeli army has "full freedom of movement" in southern Lebanon. The Israeli side will continue to stay in the "safe zone" in southern Lebanon until the relevant security needs are met.

The US and Iranian delegations held negotiations in the Bern Mountain of Switzerland last Sunday (the 21st), which was the first round of talks after the US and Iran signed the memorandum of understanding. Iran has always closely linked the Lebanese issue to the negotiations.

In the official text of the memorandum of understanding released by the US and Iran last week, the first item stipulates that all military operations on all fronts, including those in Lebanon, must be immediately and permanently halted, and it also requires ensuring the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Lebanon.
